Venezuela plans to install Indian cement facilities to meet demand

ASOCEM has released Peruvian cement statistics for the month of November 2013. Domestic sales reached 896 600 t of cement while 23 236 t was exported. In January – November 2013, cement dispatches increased by 7.45% compared to the corresponding period in 2012.

According to local press, President Maduro has announced that Venezuela will form an agreement with India for the installation of mini and medium sized cement plants. The extra facilities will provide the country with a short-term solution to rising cement demand, which has been driven up by increased building activity under the housing initiative Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela.
The Foreign Relations Minister Elías Jaua Milano plans to meet with Indian government representatives on 20 – 21 December 2013 to discuss topics such as energy, culture, science, technology.
