World Cement,
Cemex has been recognised for its transparency in environmental performance. The Mexican cement company is one of the top 8 in the CDP Latin America Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for data disclosure related to environmental and CO2 emissions performance. This is the third year that Cemex has received such recognition.
CDP is an international, not-for-profit organisation that provides a global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information.
Cemex is committed to applying its resources and cutting edge technologies to minimise its environmental impact. In a statement, Cemex says that its high listing is an indicator of its fully integrated strategy and ‘the maturity of the initiative undertaken by the company to address climate change’. One such initiative is Cemex’s carbon footprint methodology, which measures the carbon footprint of its cement, aggregates and ready-mix businesses.
