Portland Cement Association announces award winners in plant safety

The Portland Cement Association (PCA) announced the winners of the Chairman’s Safety Performance Awards, which recognise outstanding safety performance in the manufacturing of portland cement, the core ingredient used in all forms of concrete. Presented at the 2018 Cement and Concrete Fly-In event, the nine winners were selected from 100 cement facilities across the US found to be the highest performers in safety.

“The cement facilities recognised today have achieved stellar safety results,” said Allen Hamblen, PCA Chairman and President and CEO of CalPortland. “Safety is a primary focus for the cement industry—the safety of our plants and the people who work in them. We applaud this year’s winners for their singular dedication.”
