Meghna Energy to merge with HeidelbergCement Bangladesh

HeidelbergCement will streamline its holdings in Bangladesh, following the approval by HeidelbergCement Bangladesh’s Board of Directors to merge Meghna Energy Ltd with the company.
Electricity generator and supplier, Meghna Energy, currently operates as a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement. The merger is subject to approval by the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
HeidelbergCement Bangladesh, a subsidiary of global building materials group, HeidelbergCement, operates two grinding plants in Bangladesh with a capacity of 2.4 million tpy.
The company owns two cement brands – ScanCement and RubyCement – both of which are portland composite cements, a blend of clinker and supplementary cementitious materials.
