Batisöke Söke Çimento Sanayi T.A.S. has awarded KHD Humboldt Wedag the contract to supply a new COMFLEX® grinding system to increase capacity at its plant in Western Turkey. The contract comprises engineering and delivery and will raise cement grinding capacity at mill no. 5 from 59 tph to 195 tph at 3300 Blaine. The new mill will reduce energy consumption by more than 12 kWh/t.

KHD’s scope of supply covers mechanical and electrical equipment as well as advisory services during erection and commissioning. The core equipment for the COMFLEX® SC16-3250 includes:

  • Roller press RPS 16-170/180 with ROLCOX® system for control and monitoring.
  • V-Separator, type VS 524, as static classifier.
  • High efficiency separator SEPMASTER, type SKS-VC 3250 as dynamic classifier.
  • System fan HKF 200/265.

The COMFLEX will operate in combination with the existing ball mill system. The line will also use the horizontal version of KHD’s static VS separator, which will minimise the height of the COMFLEX system.

Commissioning of the new system is scheduled for the end of 2014. This will be KHD’s third COMFLEX grinding unit in Turkey after Denizli and Kahramanmaras Cimento.
