Aggregate Industries celebrates double success

World Cement,

Aggregate Industries has retained its Quality in Credit Management (QICM) accreditation and achieved the ICM Centre of Excellence recognition.

Setting the benchmark for standards within the construction industry, the national accreditations differentiate Aggregate Industries from other UK material suppliers and the company is one of only two to become a Centre of Excellence organisation.

Since 2010, Aggregate Industries has been successful in retaining the QICM accreditation with each renewal and is the only company in the industry to achieve this. Achieved through the Aggregate Industries’ credit services team of in Coalville, Leicestershire, the QICM was retained thanks to a strategy of continuous improvement and its ability to provide a world-class service throughout the business, while also striving to become the employer of choice.

Commenting on the achievement, Phil Rice of Aggregate Industries said: “It is extremely hard to reach the standards set by ICM QICM and we have devoted a considerable amount of time and investment into ongoing development and training programmes for all our staff.

“Each team member is encouraged to learn and the emphasis is on continuous professional development. This includes attendance at an ICM Masterclass and on-the-job training, along with signing a Learning Partnership with the ICM, which has supported us as an employer in our commitment to employee programmes, progression and high standards.

“We also have seven team members at various stages of study for their ICM qualifications and a further seven qualified at various levels, with one member in particular achieving ‘Best Newcomer of the Year’ at the British Credit Awards after progressing from a biology graduate to a credit controller in just 12 months!”

In addition to continuous staff training, Aggregate Industries has also created a ‘Credit Academy’ and is in the process of taking on two college leavers for apprenticeship schemes. The company is now also able to reference itself as an ICM Centre of Excellence.

Rice concluded: “Both accreditations mean that Aggregate Industries has been on a valuable learning process and although we have now achieved success in these areas there is always more to address and evolve. As a company we have been very transparent with our staff and appreciate all their hard work and dedication that has resulted in Aggregate Industries being a step ahead of its competitors.”
