Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH announces new Managing Director
Germany’s Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH has named Robert Gruss as its new Managing Director. In the role since 1 November 2014, Gruss will also progressively assume the responsibilities of managing partner Franz-W. Aumund who will gradually retire from the operational aspect of the business.
Franz-W. Aumund will continue as Managing Director of Aumund Holding B.V. and as a member of the advisory boards of the Group’s product and daughter businesses, as he primarily focuses on steering the Aumund Group.
Gruss joined Aumund from SMS Siemag AG, bringing with him years of experience in sales, international market development, supply chain management and process optimisation. He has held a number of management positions in various locations, including Italy, Beijing and Belgium.
As Managing Director, Gruss will be responsible for sales, service, technology and research and development. He forms the Management Board of Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH, together with Dr Volker Brandenburg who is responsible for finance, controlling, general administration, purchasing and production.
Gruss plans to diversify Aumund Fördertechnik’s market reach into the metallurgy, mining, minerals and other industries. He will also be tasked with developing the company’s representative network, enhancing efficiency in sales, innovation and product management, and increasing cooperation with the Aumund Group’s international subsidiaries.
