Cemex Spain shares successful export experience in North Africa with Aragon businesses
Cemex shared its experience of successfully exporting goods to Maghreb, Northern Africa, at a meeting in Aragon, Spain, in late February. The event was organised as part of the Arex Network by Aragón Exterior, in order to highlight the export opportunities available to companies in Aragon.
Cemex joined the initiative in 2014, and has a wealth of experience in running export operations. Rafael Serrano, Commercial Director of Cemex Spain’s operations in Maghreb, spoke at the event and outlined the opportunities that North Africa offers firms within the construction sector. Noting Spain’s strategic geographical advantages, Serrano explained that the decision to target markets in North Africa had been successful as Cemex was able to double the level of exports to these countries within a short time frame.
In Aragon, Cemex operates the Morata de Jalón plant, eight concrete plants, a dry mortar facility and an aggregates quarry. It employs 150 directly and 300 indirectly in the region.
