Staff changes at Cemex UK

Cemex UK has announced staff changes. Martin Langvad, VP Cement Operations & Technology Northern Europe has taken over responsibility for cement production in the UK and will continue to head Northern Europe Cement operations. Martin has worked for Cemex for 19 years and is one of the most experienced cement operators in the industry, with more than 30 years experience. Prior to 2005, Martin was responsible for the Cemex cement operations in Asia.

In addition, Philip Baynes-Clark has taken over responsibility for the UK’s biggest cement plant in Rugby, and is replaced at the South Ferriby plant by Jan Kristof Peters. Philip has been in the cement industry for 13 years and started at Rugby cement plant as a graduate process engineer. During his time at the South Ferriby plant, the team achieved 100% alternative fuel substitution for fossil fuels and Philip led the rebuild of the plant following the flood in 2013. Jan has worked for Cemex Germany for 5 years. Prior to that, Jan worked in the lime industry.

"Changes within the CEMEX UK Cement business will strengthen our team and add fresh insight and expertise to the business. We are delighted to welcome Jan Kristoff Peters from Cemex Germany to South Ferriby plant and Phil Baynes-Clarke moves to Rugby plant,” said Martin Langvad.
