4B Group opens new subsidiary in China

Located in Changzhou, the company’s new subsidiary is called 4B China and is now fully operational. Formerly sales director at WAM China, Zhu Biwei is the Managing Director of the subsidiary. Biwei has constructed an experienced team, covering sales and marketing, aftersales support, and engineering advice.

Specialising in the design, manufacture, and supply of components for the bulk material handling industry, 4B’s product range includes elevator buckets, elevator bolts, elevator belting, belt fasteners, forged chain, level controls, and hazard monitoring systems. The company also produces controls systems that minimise downtime through predictive maintenance and reduce the risk of explosions in hazardous areas.

4B is part of the Braime Group, a British PLC that is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Throughout its 130 year history, the company has been a pioneer in the material handling industry, including in its introduction of the first pressed seamless steel elevator bucket in 1909. China is the latest subsidiary to extend 4B’s ability to service customers around the world, with further subsidiaries located in Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and South Africa.

The Chinese subsidiary comes as 4B’s customer base in China has been growing. The company has stated that it recognises the huge importance of the Chinese industry. With its local presence in China, 4B aims to provide first class technical support and aftersales service to its local customer base. This is a service that 4B deems to be particularly vital for its electronics range.

4B has also developed in-house engineering programmes, designed to help upgrade existing elevators and conveyors, as well as making recommendations for new equipment and providing solutions. Fast delivery is also ensured through the use of a large local warehouse to store 4B products. The company is keen to support its customers in their development with ‘value-added’ products, alongside sharing market knowledge, expertise, and engineering services with its customers.
