The World Cement Association (WCA) has announced the appointment of two new joint chairmen: Cui Xingtai of China United Cement Co. (CUCC), and Vincent Lefebvre of Cem’In’Eu.
Xingtai has been Chairman of CUCC since 2005 and Vice President of CNBM since 2009. He holds a deep and detailed knowledge of the Chinese building materials sector.
CUCC has been at the forefront in building vertically integrated cement enterprises in China, and has a capacity of 120 million tpy of cement, 200 million m3/year of concrete, and 100 million tpy of aggregates.
Lefebvre has dual experience as an international group executive with Holcim and as the founder of a startup. He also has knowledge of markets and innovation, offering a valuable contribution to the WCA’s board.
“The WCA supports a sustainable cement industry, encouraging technical development and promoting best practices to achieve full decarbonisation, and provides practical help to members to accelerate their progress on this critical journey,” said Xingtai. “I believe that CUCC can contribute to this vision and will also benefit from its membership and active participation in the WCA.”
