Gebr. Pfeiffer SE has announced details of a new contract to supply five vertical roller mills to PT Cemindo Gemilang cement company’s Bayah plant.

The contract came via Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd, which is acting as the General Contractor for this 10 000 tpd line. The mills in question are as follows:

  • 2 x MPS 5300 B vertical roller mills for raw material grinding, rated at 400 tph.
  • 2 x MPS 5300 BC vertical roller mills for cement grinding, rated at 220 tph.
  • 1 x MPS 4500 BK vertical roller mill for coal grinding, rated at 100 tph – the world’s largest VRM for coal grinding.

The new plant is to be built on the island of Java, with delivery of the mills scheduled for 3Q14. As well as the core components for the grinding plant, Gebr. Pfeiffer SE is also responsible for the supply of workshop drawings to enable local manufacture of the mill components. Manufacture at the Chinese workshops will fall under Gebr. Pfeiffer’s supervision, and the company will also supervise erection and commissioning.

In other news from Gebr. Pfeiffer SE, the company has announced that Dyckerhoff AG will be buying a new high-efficiency classifier for its Palatine cement plant in Göllheim, Germany. The plant has been operating a coal grinding plant since 1983 that features an MPS 140 K vertical roller mill and a static classifier of the older generation. The new classifier, which will be type SLS 1120 BK, will help produce a finer product quality. It is guaranteed to separate the material to a fineness of 3% R 0.090 mm and will be installed in calendar week 6/2014.
