Tokyo Cement Lanka completes amalgamation with Fuji Cement

Sri Lanka’s Tokyo Cement Lanka has completed its amalgamation with subsidiary company Fuji Cement Lanka. All shares of Fuji Cement Lanka have been cancelled, with all the assets and liabilities of the company being absorbed by Tokyo Cement Lanka as of 13 March 2015. The amalgamation is planned to help the companies benefit from the synergies between the two businesses.
Tokyo Cement is the largest cement manufacturer in Sri Lanka, with almost 2 million tpy of cement capacity. It has been operating in the country for three decades.
