World Cement,

China Resources Cement (CR Cement) and Siemens have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Siemens at the first Belt and Road International Summit. The agreement was one of more than ten agreements signed by Siemens, which hosted the summit, to support and explore opportunities from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

“We support the call of the BRI and take another solid step forward on a larger scale and a wider scope,” said Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens. “BRI has proven to be a wise and powerful force for accelerating infrastructure development already in many participating countries.”

The strategic partnership between Siemens and CR Cement will see the companies work together in the fields of electrification, automation, and digitalisation, CR Cement said in a statement.

“The two parties shall respond proactively to the ‘Made in China 2025’ initiative to jointly study and implement the applications of smart manufacturing in the cement industry, while simultaneously exploring solutions in areas, such as enhancing energy savings, improving quality, and increasing labour productivity,” CR Cement continued.
