CEMEX presents international finalists for its Building Award

Over its 27 year lifespan, the CEMEX Building Award has recognised more than 700 projects worldwide. This year, the International Edition of the prize has seen entries from countries such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, the Dominican Republic, the UK, France, Germany, Latvia, Poland, and the US, to name a few.

The jury had a similar international basis, being comprised of 13 representatives from the international construction industry. This group were responsible for the project selection process.

Finalists were recognised for state-of-the-art construction solutions in five categories: residential housing, affordable housing, building, collective space, and infrastructure. Four additional special prizes could also be won in the categories of social value, universal accessibility, sustainable building, and construction innovation.

Selected finalists include the Salesforce Tower in the US, the Mersey Gateway in the UK, and the Santo Domingo “Malecón” Waterfront in the Dominican Republic. The award is one of the most recognised worldwide competitions in the construction industry. Through the award, CEMEX has continued to build a culture of construction innovation, through endorsing projects and professionals who are leading the way towards new and better industry practices.
