Holcim Philippines receives ‘Best Employer’ certification
Holcim Philippines has been awarded a ‘Best Employer’ certification by human resource consultancy Aon Hewitt. The certification was based on a survey of the company’s 1700 employees and ranged against the Aon Hewitt global employee engagement database. The Certified Best Employer programme recognises organisations that encourage high employee engagement and a high performance culture, as well as demonstrating effective leadership and a compelling employer brand strategy. Holcim Philippines received particularly positive results for occupational health and safety, organisational reputation, innovation and managing performance.
“Cement manufacturing is always associated with the large industrial facilities and heavy machines, but our most important asset remains our people. Last year, we delivered our best-ever financial performance in the company’s history and this was made possible by our highly engaged workforce,” commented Eduardo Sahagun, Holcim Philippines CEO.
“We are very proud to be a leader in the construction sector and believe that we are also competitive in providing a conducive environment to care for and develop our employees. We hope that this recognition will hopefully also raise the company’s profile as an employer,” added Vice President for Human Resources Araceli Gonzales.
In 2013, Holcim Philippines’ revenues increased by 6% y/y to a record Php28.9 billion, with net income rising by 28% to Php4.6 billion.
