PPC Ltd came first in the Top Gender Empowered Company in Manufacturing and Engineering category at the 11th Annual Standard Bank Top Women Awards. The awards recognise South African organisations and individuals from both the private and public sector that embrace the process of gender empowerment.
PPC, together with over 1000 other companies and organisations, were surveyed based on criteria such as the percentage of female ownership, women in senior management positions, how many are female directors, the amount of female employees, the nature and scope of policies and programmes geared towards empowering women, as well as turnover growth of the company. Honorary judges included, Advocate Motsehoa Brenda Madumise, South African Institute of Professional Accountants Chairperson, Shirley Olsen and Khathide Consulting CEO, Thami Kubheka.
