Dangote Cement uses AUMUND Group technology

AUMUND Group has been awarded several orders by Sinoma for Nigeria and Senegal. The company has stated that the orders have consolidated its position on the African continent. Working closely with Sinoma Nanjing NDI, AUMUND Beijing is to supply more than a dozen machines to companies in Africa by 2020. Further to this, another of the group’s companies. SCHADE Lagertechnik, has won an order to supply several machines for two Dangote projects in Nigeria.
The Dangote Obajana Line Five and Okpella plants both produce 6000 tpd of cement. AUMUND will supply three belt bucket elevators with a capacity of 660 tph, to convey raw meal and to feed raw meal to the preheater towers at 520 tph. With a capacity of 480 tph, three further belt bucket elevators will convey cement to the silos. A pan conveyor with a weighing scale mechanism and a capacity of 500 tph will run from the coolers to the clinker silos, and three further pan conveyors under the clinker silo will round off the machinery package.
SCHADE has also won orders for a stacker with a capacity of 3500 tph for Obajana, and another at 2160 tph for Okpella. This is as well as a portal reclaimer, which will operate at 800 tph in the limestone storage of each plant. The supply package will be completed with additional stockyard equipment.
AUMUND Beijing will also supply the following Dangote projects: Apapa and Onne Clinker Export and Gypsum Import Terminal. The company will supply a double bucket elevator to convey clinker to the silos, at a capacity of 1200 tph, as well as several other chain bucket elevators. Those that will be used to convey gypsum to the bunkers will have a capacity of 720 tph at Apapa and 480 at Onne. Further to this, two 1600 series Samson® Material Feeders with handling capacities of 400 tph of clinker, two telescopic chutes, and two truck loaders for clinker will also be supplied to each terminal.
A successful working relationship with Sinoma has also resulted in the order of a belt bucket elevator with a capacity of 300 tph, to convey cement to a new silo at the Dangote Cement Senegal Expansion Project.
For 20 years, AUMUND has partnered with Sinoma to supply numerous key conveying technology components for Dangote projects across Africa. This has included belt bucket elevators to convey raw meal to silos and preheater towers, and pan conveyors to convey clinker from coolers to silos and for silo discharge under silos. Dangote Cement is the leading cement producer in Africa, with a total production capacity of 45.6 million t.
