The Dande limestone quarry has had to withdraw from the 2018 Quarry Life Award due to continuing threats to safety and security in Burkino Faso and, more specifically, in the region where the activities are located.
"The safety and wellbeing of participants and staff is our priority and cannot be guaranteed under the current circumstances" says François Sangline, General Manager Cimburkina.
The doors of the Dande quarry will be kept closed to the general public and the National Coordinator will not accept project proposals. It is hoped that the situation will soon improved and that Burkina Faso will be able to participate in the next edition of the Quarry Life Award.
