Condition monitoring of conveyor belts, proven and new methods

When talking about ‘Overall Equipment Effectiveness’ (OEE) an important part of a conveyor transport systems, besides the drive and the pulleys/idlers, is the conveyor belt itself. To increase overall productivity, it makes sense to keep the belt in good condition.

Belt-monitoring systems should, therefore, be part of an over-all strategy for improving productivity. The task of such systems is to prevent unplanned downtime and to maximise efficiency. This presentation focuses on what systems are available and the influence they have on overall efficiency.
