Cement manufacturers are turning toward the use of alternative fuels and raw materials to reduce both the cost and the environmental impact of their operations. Many companies are also seeking ways to effectively integrate AFR systems into existing operations.

BEUMER Group has developed specialised technology geared towards the use of alternative fuels for cement manufacturing clients. Jan Tuma, Chief Sales Officer at BEUMER Group Czech Republic, will outline solutions in his presentation entitled, ‘Alternative Fuel & Raw Material Transportation—A Real World Example’ at the Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials Americas 2020 conference.

The presentation will feature a first-hand examination of the implementation of AFR systems at two European cement plants.

“Following a wholistic, proven process is key to the successful implementation of an alternative fuel system into existing plants,” said Tuma. “Since alternative and waste fuels can be used in high-temperature rotary kiln systems without negatively impacting cement quality, the end result is significant cost savings for manufacturers,” he continued.

Tuma is the Chief Sales Officer at BEUMER Group Czech Republic, a subsidiary of BEUMER Group and the company’s global ‘centre of competence’ for overland conveying. With more than 20 years of cement industry experience, Tuma’s responsibilities include the oversight of all alternative fuels projects worldwide.

Tuma will be available after the presentation to answer questions and discuss BEUMER’s alternative fuel technologies.
