Jerry Carrier, Director of Research and Development at Glen-Gery Corporation, has been recognised by ASTM International with an Award of Merit for contributions to ASTM masonry standards from its Committee C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units. The award is ASTM’s highest organisational recognition for an individual’s contributions to standards activities.
Involvement with C15 subcommittees
Joining ASTM in 1987, Carrier was granted the award due to his involvement with C15 subcommittees. He is a member of the ASTM Committees on Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry, Thermal Insulation, Performance of Buildings, and Sustainability, alongside Committee C15. He has led several task groups that have resulted in the development of industry specifications relating to manufactured masonry units of fired clay and shale, concrete and sand-lime units.
Carrier was previously recognised by the committee in 2005, receiving an Award of Appreciation.
Helping our world work better
With over 30 000 members, there are over 12 000 ASTM standards operating across borders, disciplines, and industries, to improve performance in manufacturing and materials, products and processes, systems and services.
