US: rise in domestic production of construction materials in 3Q14

World Cement,


Mineral commodity data compiled by the USGS indicates that domestic production of construction materials in 3Q14 was around 16% higher than in 2Q14. This includes cement, construction sand and gravel, crushed stone and gypsum combined. Compared to 3Q13, production grew by 9%.

In terms of minerals, 3Q14 aluminium production stayed in line with 2Q14, while increases were recoded for copper (2%), gold (9%), silver (6%) and zinc (3%). Lead production declined by 2% q/q.
