Colombia: domestic dispatches of grey cement up 14.5% in January 2015
In Colombia in January 2015, more than 900 300 t of grey cement was produced. According to DANE, this is 8.3% higher than in January 2014. Production volumes were also up in the 12 months to January 2015, rising by 10.4% y/y to 12. 45 million t.
In the first month of this year, some 927 800 t of grey cement was dispatched on Colombia’s domestic market. This represents growth of 14.5% when compared to the corresponding month in 2014. In January, the main regional markets that saw cement dispatches increase were Antioquia (25.2%), Nariño (165%), Valle del Cauca (14.9%), Bolívar (24.7%), Magdalena (36.3), Cesar (37.2%) and Atlántico (15.1%).
In the 12 months to January, cement dispatches improved by 11.1% y/y to reach approximately 12.09 million t. Out of the 21 regional markets analysed by DANE, 20 experienced growth.
