Argos receives Energy Star award

Argos has received the Energy Star award from the US Environmental Protection Agency in recognition of efforts to achieve energy savings at its cement plants in Harleyville, South Carolina; Newberry, Florida; and Roberta, Alabama.
Maria Isabel Echeverri, Sustainability Vice President, said: “In Argos we reassure our commitment to develop a more responsible production day after day, by optimising energy efficiency, manage this resource strategically, and carry out cost-effective improvements. We are aware of the importance of energy to all industries and the planet; therefore, we’ve addressed all our efforts toward the development of competitive technologies and systems to guarantee the efficient use of this resource in all our operations. We are very happy to receive this honour, that once again, ratifies our commitment to sustainability, and validates our practice.”
