World Cement,
Cement manufacturers are seeking new ways to fuel their facilities in an effort to reduce costs and environmental impact. Operators are looking toward alternative fuels and raw materials such as industry/household waste, biomass and used tyres, as a way to decrease dependency on fossil fuels.
Beumer experts will showcase the alternative fuel and raw material (AFR) concept with an emphasis on how the system can be integrated into existing cement facilities at the International Cement Seminar & Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia, US.
Brian Giese, Beumer’s Director of Business Development, will deliver a presentation titled ‘Alternative Fuel Handling for Cement Plants’ on 19 November from 2pm – 2.30pm. With more than 25 years of material handling industry experience, Giese’s expertise encompasses a broad range of conveying solutions, including long distance and high capacity systems, high lifts, difficult materials and complex layouts. His presentation will provide attendees with a first-hand look at how AFR was implemented at the Retznei Cement plant, Austria.
“The use of alternative fuels provides significant benefits to cement plants,” said Giese. “Alternative fuels help push the cement manufacturing industry into a circular economy by reusing waste and byproducts from other industries."
Beumer Group has developed specialised technology geared toward the handling of alternative fuels for cement manufacturing clients, and experts will also be on hand throughout the seminar at Booth 317 to demonstrate best-in-class cement handling equipment, including bucket elevator and apron conveyor technologies.
