Cemex USA plants earn Conservation Certification

On 19 November Cemex USA announced that seven of its cement plants earned Conservation Certification with the Wildlife Habitat Council for its conservation education programmes, superior management of wildlife enhancement and land stewardship projects.
Cemex maintains 14 facilities that have Wildlife Habitat Council certified programmes. These projects vary in scope, ranging from large-scale prairie and wetland restoration to individual species management and native planting projects.
The WHC promotes and certifies habitat conservation and management on corporate lands through partnership education.
“Cemex USA is honoured to receive certification through the Wildlife Habitat Council for the continued success of our environmental efforts,” said Karl H. Watson, Jr., President of Cemex USA. “Cemex’s partnership with this organisation provides a valuable opportunity to engage our team and our community in wildlife enhancement and land stewardship initiatives, while fostering awareness of how industry and natural habitats can coexist.”
