Danish royals inaugurate new FLSmidth Supercenter in Chile

World Cement,

FLSmidth’s new Supercenter in Antofagasta, Chile, was inaugurated this week by the Royal Danish Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, along with Danish Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal, the Mayor of Antofagasta Karen Rojo and FLSmidth Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen. This is the company’s second Supercenter in Chile, a country in which FLSmidth has been present for over a century and has 800 employees across various locations. The Supercenter will be completed in June 2013 with expanded offerings for local rebuild, service and parts support.

There are to be seven FLSmidth Supercenters across six countries: Tucson, USA; Perth, Australia; Arequipa, Peru; Antofagasta and Santiago, Chile; Khanbogd, Mongolia; and Delmas, South Africa. These provide a training room for customers’ staff to learn how to use equipment, small-scale laboratory services, increased employment opportunities in the community, as well as close proximity to customers to provide timely parts delivery, support, strategic stock, rebuild and repair capabilities.

“It was a great pleasure to be able to inaugurate our newest Supercenter in the company of the Danish Crown Prince, Crown Princess and Foreign Minister. Chile is an important market for FLSmidth, and the prominent guests who contributed to giving the event extra attention also serve as an acknowledgement of our 130 years on the global arena – the last 104 as an active player on all continents,” said Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen.
