Roanoke and Pennsuco cement plants gain WHC recertification

Titan America’s Roanoke and Pennsuco cement plants have been recertified by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC). Both facilities received recertification under the ‘Wildlife at Work’ category. This will be valid for three years.

Both Roanoke and Pennsuco were presented with ‘Wildlife at Work’ certifications in 2012, and went on to receive the WHC certification for ‘Corporate Lands for Learning’ in 2013. The first Titan facility to achieve WHC certification was the Winston-Salem cement terminal in 2011, and now several cement terminals and the company’s Center Sand site have been recognised under WHC’s certification scheme.

“This recertification is tangible evidence that we continue to make progress on one of Titan America's goals of achieving a more sustainable future,” stated Lance Clark, Environmental Manager for Roanoke Cement. “I am proud of the entire Roanoke Cement team (plant and terminals) for the hard work that has allowed RCC to achieve this outstanding recognition.”
