World Cement,
Holcim’s Ada Oklahoma plant is modernising its pyroprocess to reduce emissions and increase capacity. Holcim (US) has selcted FLSmidth to provide the major equipment for the plant, including a dryer crusher, a single stage preheater with an ILC-calciner, a dedusting cyclone, a ROTAX-2® kiln, a kiln bypass system, a Duoflex® kiln burner and an FLSmidth® Cross-Bar® cooler.
The two parties have not disclosed the value of the contract, but earlier in the year local media reported Holcim US planned to invest some US$100 million in the modernisation project. At that time, it was said that the plant upgrade would increase production capacity by around 20%.
Two new dust collectors from FLSmidth will help reduce particulate emissions and will aid the plant in its efforts to meet the upcoming NESHAP regulations.
