TCL helps build World Cup fever

World Cement,

Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) is one of the cement manufacturers that contributed to the construction of the World Cup stadia in Brazil. TCL cement was used in the Amazônia Arena in Manaus. The stadium, which was inaugurated in March 2014, has the capacity to seat 46 000 fans. It made its World Cup debut with last week’s England vs Italy group qualifier match and will go on to host another three games in June (Cameroon vs Croatia, US vs Portugal and Honduras vs Switzerland).

TCL has been exporting cement to Brazil since 2009 under the ‘Cimento Fort’ brand. Sales have been rising, with demand for construction products boosted by infrastructure projects such as the FIFA World Cup and 2016’s Olympic Games.

TCL’s Cimento Fort was also utilised in the construction of the Rio Negro Bridge, which spans 3595 m across the Rio Negro River to connect the cities of Manaus and Iranduba.
