CEMEX announced today that it has supplied 6200 m3 of concrete, primarily low-carbon concrete, for the construction of the Port Marianne Secondary School. This new secondary school, located in the heart of Montpellier, is part of the urban integration program proposed by the city.

As part of the concrete supplied, CEMEX delivered more than 4700 m3 of Vertua classic low-carbon concrete for structural elements such as the entrance porch, the V-shaped pillars supporting the buildings, the ground floor, and the slabs and pillars of some buildings.

In addition, CEMEX delivered over 1100 m3 of light grey architectural concrete for the construction of the walls of several buildings, some of which are up to 3 m high. Bouygues Construction, the company in charge of the structural works, used CEMEX Go, the company's digital platform, to order all the concrete and monitor its delivery in real-time. This digital tool optimised the site's organisation, which was essential given the tight deadlines.

The objective was to create a group of buildings capable of accommodating 750 students in the short term, then 900 in the medium term, thanks to a modular construction system. The mix of wood and concrete materials is particularly prominent in this new public building.
