Portland Cement Association named Scott Nielson the runner-up of a 2015 John P. Gleason Jr., Leadership Award.

Presented at PCA’s annual fall committee meeting, the awards honour employees of member companies who have exhibited industry leadership by taking the Association in new directions. Awards are presented in each of PCA’s three categories of key strategic initiatives: Business Continuity, Market Development as well as Young Leaders.

Nielson, runner-up in the Young Leaders category, is recognised for exceptional leadership qualities and high potential in non-executive employees of Member companies.

Mr. Nielson, corporate environmental manager at Ash Grove Cement Company, is an active volunteer who serves as co-chairman on PCA’s Energy and Environment Technology Subcommittee. Scott has direct responsibility for environmental compliance at Ash Grove Cement Company’s Midwestern cement and quarry operations.
