For the second consecutive year, Argos was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index – World, becoming one of the three cement companies to be included in this high-profile listing.

The index is a measuring tool that monitors the corporate sustainability performance of leading companies in terms of their social, environmental and economic performance. It has become an international benchmark and a key reference for analysts, institutional investors, and other interested parties.

In terms of economics, Argos reached the maximum rating for the industry and in the environmental dimension the company almost doubled the industry average, featuring biodiversity, international products standards and water-related risks, among other aspects. In terms of social aspects, the company improved in areas such as human rights and relationships with stakeholders. Argos reports that these matters are a top priority and are consistent with its sustainability strategy.

“We are extremely happy with this ratification, which recognises our sustainable practices in the development of our business model, and our responsible actions regarding people, the environment, and economic balance. This recognition is gratifying, it refreshes the spirit and encourages us to go farther, to foster sustainability as the administration's top priority for shareholders, employees, the planet, and society,” said Jorge Mario Velásquez, CEO of Argos.
