Three Cemex USA cement plants have received a total of five awards from the Portland Cement Association (PCA) for achievements related to safety performance and innovation, as well as energy and environmental stewardship. The three plants were presented with the awards at the PCA’s Spring meeting in Washington DC.
The awards included the recognition of the Victorsville cement plant for energy efficiency and environmental performance. The Brooksville South and Balcones plants both received the PCA Chairman’s Safety Performance Award, while Calcones received the PCS Safety Innovation Award for its pyrprocessing progamme.
“America’s cement manufacturers are committed to making the highest quality product with a minimal environmental footprint,” said PCA President and CEO James G. Toscas.
“The companies recognized this year are examples of how this commitment underpins everyday work at cement plants around the country. Their strong culture of innovation has led to energy efficiency and sustainable manufacturing practices that are continually lowering the impact of the cement industry on our environment.”
