Weaker figures for Peru’s cement sector in April 2015
Statistics released by ASOCEM indicate that cement dispatches on the Peruvian domestic market fell by 3.1% in April 2015. Production declined by 8.3% and total dispatches by 1.7%.
The weaker figures have been attributed to poor weather conditions and low levels of public spending. They follow some signs of recuperation in March, when cement production and total dispatches increased by 2% and 0.1%, respectively. However, domestic dispatches were down in March too, for the third month in a row.
