Records show a rise in cement and clinker shipments in the USA
Data on shipments of Portland and blended cement and masonry cement as well as the production of clinker in the United States from January 2014 through to January 2015 has been outlined in the latest Mineral Industry Survey.
In the US and Puerto Rico, in January 2015, total shipments of Portland and blended cement were about 5.4 million t. This was up by 12% from the level in January 2014.
Texas, California, Missouri, Florida, and Alabama (in descending order) were the leading Portland cement-producing states in January.
The leading consuming states (Texas, California, Florida, Georgia, and Arizona) received about 48% of the January shipments.
Texas, Missouri, California, Alabama and Florida (in descending order) were the leading clinker-producing states in January. In 2015, clinker production increased by about 17% from the output in January 2014 and totalled 5.4 million t.
Masonry cement shipments were almost 5% higher in January 2015, than in the corresponding month in 2014 at roughly 154 000 t. The leading masonry cement-consuming States were, in descending order, Florida, Texas, California, Georgia, and North Carolina, receiving 59% of January’s shipments.
