UNACEM recognised for its social responsibility efforts
Peruvian cement manufacturer UNACEM has been recognised for its social responsibility work for the fourth year in a row. The distinction was awarded to UNACEM by Peru 2021 and the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) for its efforts to promote sustainable development and for its CSR management practices.
A total of 82 companies participated in the social responsibility scheme, which focused on four strategic areas: business ethics; environmental care and preservation; quality of life; links with the community.
Commenting on the achievement, Armando Casis, General Manager of the UNACEM Association, said that the company recognised the importance of being committed to social development, which also helps it to grow and generate value for its stakeholders.
