World Cement,

During the Portland Cement Association’s (PCA) recent Autumn board meeting in Washington D.C., the association’s Board of Directors. elected Cary O. Cohrs as association. Cohrs succeeds Aris Papadopoulos of Titan America. John Stull, president and CEO of Lafarge North America Inc., was elected vice chairman. Cohrs is the currently President of American Cement Company LLC, based in Sumterville, Florida. He said, “It is not only a pleasure but a great honor to serve as Chairman of the Board. We may be just beginning to emerge from the recession, but the prospects for cement and concrete are incredibly positive.” He also commented that shifting the association’s leadership from Skokie to Washington will allow for a greater scope of involvement in advocacy and government affairs. However, he reinforced the importance of national and local promotion initiatives and the association’s involvement in driving gains in market share and size.
