Six Cemex USA cement plants achieve Energy Star® certification.

Six of Cemex USA’s cement plants have been recognised with the US EPA’s Energy Star^® certification:

• Brooksville, Fla.
• Miami, Fla.
• Clinchfield, Ga.
• Fairborn, Ohio.
• Louisville, Ky.
• Victorville, Calif.

This is the eighth year in a row that the Clinchfield plant has been awarded the certification, a feat matched by only one other cement plant in the US. This year marks the sixth consecutive year that the Louisville plant has achieved the Energy Star^®, the fourth for the Miami plant and the third for the Brooksville, Victorville and Fairborn cement plants.

The certification demonstrates that these plants are in the top 25% of facilities of their kind in the country. Over the year, the sites have put into practice the energy efficiency principles of the Energy Star^® Guidelines for Energy Management, which were developed by the EPA. This includes, energy conservation and monitoring techniques, reducing energy consumption, as well as encouraging energy efficiency awareness among staff.
