PCA and FLASH rebuild family home

World Cement,
Following the mass destruction in the northeast caused by Superstorm Sandy, families are still recovering and rebuilding three years later.
On 27 October, the Portland Cement Association (PCA), the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) and the Insurance Information Institute will host a groundbreaking for the rebuilding of the Hellriegel family home, in an effort to help one of the families whose home was destroyed by the storm in 2012.
PCA has urged both states and local decision makers to make the appropriate enhancements to better assure the fire resistance and safety of homes and buildings. The use on non-combustible materials such as concrete, masonry or steel, minimises the damage of fire, and allows for a better chance of return if another disaster occurs.
