Cemex announce the release of the 32nd edition of its Conservation Book Series, celebrating 25 years of restoration and protection at the El Carmen Nature Reserve, one of the most ambitious private conservation efforts in North America.

This commemorative edition vividly presents the ecological recovery of El Carmen, a 130 000-hectare reserve along the border of Coahuila and eastern Texas. Through striking photography and expert insight, the book highlights the return of native flora and fauna, including species like the American bison and desert bighorn sheep, as well as the broader environmental impact of decades-long conservation work.

“El Carmen reflects what’s possible when long-term vision, science, and commitment come together,” said Ricardo Naya, Executive Vice President of Sustainability and Operations Development. “This book not only documents a quarter-century of progress but also reaffirms our belief that business and nature can grow together.”

Originally launched in 1993, Cemex’s Conservation Book Series has become an internationally recognised platform for advancing environmental awareness and supporting the global conservation community. Each edition addresses a pressing sustainability topic and aims to inspire action through visual storytelling and scientific knowledge.
