New appointments at ThyssenKrupp and 4B Components

Patrick Bass, currently Senior Vice President Product Lifecycle Management/R&D at the ThyssenKruppElevator headquarters in Germany, will become CEO of ThyssenKrupp North America, Inc. as of 1 January 2015 following the resignation of Torsten Gessner. Kevin Backus, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at ThyssenKrupp North America, Inc., will be responsible for the Regional Headquarter on an interim basis. With a turnover of €8.3 billion in FY12/13 and 20 000 employees, North America is the biggest and most important foreign market for the Essen-based industrial and engineering group.
Patrick Bass started his career at ThyssenKrupp with ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corp., Horn Lake/USA as a Mechanical Engineer in 1999. He served in variouspositions in the Elevator organisation where he took over the position of Executive Vice President of R&D before he changed to ThyssenKrupp's Elevator headquarter in Essen/Germany and took over the position of SeniorVice President Product/R&D in 2012. "Patrick Bass is an excellent business executive who has proven to successfully manage complex challenges. We wish Patrick Bass a very good start and success in further strengthening our businesses and regional structure in North America," said Dr Donatus Kaufmann, member of ThyssenKrupp Executive Board.

In close collaboration with our operating units he made important progress in positioning ThyssenKrupp better in the North American market. 4B Components
4B Group, a worldwide manufacturer of material handling and electronic components for bucket elevators and conveyors, has announced the appointment of Johnny Wheat as President of 4B Components Limited, with responsibility over North, Central and South America.
Wheat joined 4B over 22 years ago as an engineer in the electronics department, and became Senior Vice President in 2003. “Since that time, he has managed the 4B USA operation with a combination of exceptional skill, enthusiasm and drive which has helped to make 4B one of the leaders in the industry” said 4B Group Chairman & Managing Director Nicholas Braime. “In his role as President, Wheat’s challenge will be to continue the growth of the company and its brand throughout the region.”
