Juntos Somos Mais Fidelização LTDA has announced the start of its operations as an independent company. Votorantim Cimentos, Gerdau, and Tigre will be the company’s shareholders. The new company will manage Juntos Somos +, the largest loyalty programme in the construction material retail market in Brazil. The programme works as a benefit plan for stores, sellers, and construction workers, with the aim of developing and modernising the construction retail business.

Approximately BRL300 billion is spent on civil construction in Brazil each year, which is the equivalent of 4.5% of GDP. One of the largest employers in the country, the industry has more than 100 000 construction stores and employs 6 million construction workers.

Juntos Somos + was created by Votorantim Cimentos in 2014 and currently includes more than 40 000 registered stores and approximately 60 000 registered professionals. Further to the three shareholders, the following companies are also part of the programme: Vedacit, Eternit, Suvinil, Stam, Bosch, Casa do Construtor, Ciser, and Ourolux e Cozimax.

In the programme, stores and professionals accumulate points by purchasing products from participating companies. The points can then be redeemed for prizes, such as store equipment (fork lifts, computers, etc.), management systems, training courses, tools, and social responsibility activities within local communities. With the use of websites and smartphone apps, the entire ecosystem can be accessed digitally.

The company has plans to invest BRL50 million in the expansion of the programme, refining the ecosystem by adding new functionalities and improving benefits to participants. Currently employing 25 people, the company has a startup culture, with a well-defined purpose and less hierarchical structure, fostering the development of innovative ideas.

“Juntos Somos + is the first ecosystem in the civil construction and retail segment that involves industrial and service companies, stores, and construction workers,” said Antonio Serrano, CEO of Juntos Somos Mais. “The programme is already widely used and, between 2014 and 2018, it has distributed more than one billion points, granted around 300 000 prizes, and impacted more than 100 000 people directly.
“Customers will increasingly notice improvements to their shopping experience as a result of more personalised service in stores, better qualified professionals, and the offer of a wide range of financial products, such as financing and insurance.
“Juntos Somos + is an ecosystem focused on the success of the entire construction retail chain and underlines the capacity of Votorantim Cimentos, Gerdau, and Tigre to innovate in this sector.”
