Martin Marietta appoints new member to board of directors

With the appointment of Ables, the company’s board of directors is now comprised of 10 directors, four of whom have been appointed since 2016.

Ables brings with her significant financial and operational leadership experience, having served most recently as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Spectra Energy Corp. Ables held this role for almost 10 years until her retirement in early 2017. Her retirement culminated a career spanning more than 30 years at Spectra Energy and its predecessor companies. In her position as CAO, Ables was responsible for information technology, human resources, support services, and community relations. Before that, she also held roles as Vice President of Audit Services and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Spectra, as well as having been Chief Financial Officer for Duke Energy Gas Transmission.

Ables is currently a member of the board of directors of Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., where she is on the committees for audit and compensation. She was also named as one of Texas’ Most Powerful and Influential Women by the National Diversity Council.
