Cementos Argos has launched a new virtual reality driving simulator, which will give its ready-mixed drivers safety training.
Custom-designed for the company, the mixer truck driving simulator uses virtual reality technology to give employees the feeling that they are actually driving a mixer truck, within the safety of a controlled environment.
Since close to 50% of the company’s employees in the US are drivers, it set out to create a unique safety training experience. The aim was to make a real impact on employees and drive home the message of road safety.
“At Argos, we will not compromise on the safety of our employees, so I am excited to see this initiative is gaining so much traction within our organisation,” said Bill Wagner, USA Region Vice President at Argos. “This idea was born from our own employees wanting to take ownership of their safety and the safety of their coworkers, and they worked as a team to create this tool, They did a great job because the feedback that we have received so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
