World Cement,
The Timber Innovation Act provides federal funding and promotes wood as a tall building material. The bill H.R. 5628 and S. 2892, is currently under discussion in Congress and is likely to impact the aggregates industry significantly. A free webinar is being held at 2pm Eastern Time on 3 November, to learn about the details of the TRA and how you can stop it.
TIA pumps federal funds into wood construction of tall buildings. “It’s a clear preference of wood over traditional construction materials and flies in the face of current building safety codes, not to mention marketplace fairness,” said Ashley Amidon, NSSGA director of government affairs who will be presenting during the webinar. NSSGA has joined with over 15 other associations and groups to educate members of Congress about the negative impacts of this legislation – but more support is needed from the aggregates industry. This is your chance to get up to speed on a new threat to the industry!
