Primasonics International has been designing, manufacturing and installing their wide range of acoustic cleaners since 1998 and now has installations in over 70 countries worldwide. The cement and power generation industries still remain the company’s main markets where the company’s acoustic cleaners prevent material build up and aid material flow.
Silos, hoppers, filters, fans, ESPs, SCRs, cyclones and ductwork are some of the plant applications that have benefitted from the installation of the correct model of acoustic cleaner as well as all section of the power generation plant. They offer a 9-model Primasonics acoustic cleaner range, from 420 Hz down to 60 Hz and it was the introduction of the PAS-60 model a few years ago which is proving to be the first choice in preventing side wall build up and rat holing within very large cement silos. It is without doubt the most powerful audiosonic acoustic cleaner available and one single unit can ensure that 30 000 t and over silos can operate to maximum capacity without and material build up on the side walls irrespective of external temperatures or humidity. This is particularly evident in Indian cement plants such as JK Lakshmi, Maihar and Birla Corporation cement plants, where temperature and humidity fluctuates widely, which resulted in the past in severe sidewall build-up and rat holing.
With all Primasonics acoustic cleaners, all that is needed to operate them is standard plant compressed air and an electrical control voltage. They only require ‘sounding’ for a few seconds at periodic intervals during silo filling and discharge.
As a result of the success achieved with the introduction of the PAS-60 model, Primasonics R&D team are currently developing a new breed of acoustic cleaners – the Macrosonics range primarily for use in cleaning very large surface areas such as ships holds.
