Cemex launches new asphalt range

On 7 October, Cemex launched a range of six new asphalt products at the UK Civils Expo. The Via range provides customers from local councils, surfacing contractors and individual builders with a solution to their surfacing needs.

Viaflex uses the latest polymer modified bitumen technology to give resistance to cracking and deformation, making it an ideal product for extensive repairs on roads.

Viaflow is well suited to areas requiring a permeable free draining surface that allows water to pass through to the underlying structure. It can be used as part of a Sustainable Urban Drainage System and is ideal for areas that require durability, such as driveways and car parks.

Viamain has been specifically designed for the utility sector. It is easier to compact than standard asphalt and offers improved air void compliance, thereby reducing the likelihood of poor quality reinstatements.

Viashield, a hot rolled asphalt designed specifically for the farming community, is hardwearing and resistant to acid attack from agricultural effluent. It is a dense, impermeable surfacing that can be used in a wide range of applications on a farm, including storing silage for anaerobic digestion systems and housing livestock.

Viacourse is a single layer solution for roads and highways, designed for speedy construction. It provides a 50 mm – 80 mm thick layer to replace the top two layers of the binder and surface, which can save both time and money. The surface texture also provides skid and rut resistance, making it ideal for rural roads and housing estate roads.

Viacourt is a flexible solution for sports surfaces that meets the Sports and Play Contractors Association specifications. Viacourt is free draining asphalt that gives a smooth surface and is available in two grades, tennis and multi-use games.
