Cherat Packaging Pakistan and BSW Machinery have announced another milestone in woven PP bag production, with the release of the new converTex CL 140. It is now fully operational and provides one hundred and forty 65g bags a minute, 24 hours a day.

The converTex CL 140 was designed for the specific needs of cement bags and represents a special execution of the proven converTex SLC 120, by addressing the need for extra fast and efficient production of cement sacks. To make the machine more efficient, it was geared for extra low bag weights, and Cherat and BSW plan to develop industrial production bag weights below 65g.

Amer Faruque, CEO of Cherat: “The installation and start-up of the machine went as well as we are used to with all our BSW equipment. We are permanently running at full speed with our new converTex CL 140. It was installed along with our third complete line from BSW – from tape production to bag conversion. Now we have all tools from high tenacity tapes to fast conversion of light fabric to follow our strategy to reduce the bag weight further without compromising any bag properties.”

Walter Häder, CEO of BSW: “Cherat adopted the new technology in no time and reached full speed almost immediately. This underlines the quality of operations and management. With the successful field experience we are now looking forward to presenting our new top model converTex CL 140 at the K Show coming up in October 2016 in Duesseldorf, Germany. We will have the machine at our booth and we will run it to show the capabilities and the potential to the whole industry. The visitors will see 65 gram bags being produced at record speed.”
